“Our Lives as Sacred Story”
EXPANDED GROUP FORMAT WORKSHOP
Carrie Newcomer
Saturday, November 3, 2012
Noon – 2 pm
Christian Theological Seminary
1000 W. 42nd St., Indianapolis, IN 46208
Room 166
Story-telling is a time-honored means of worship and prayer. When we listen gently to our own stories, we often discover God's story intertwined in the pages written of our lives. Use conversation, exploratory writing, and individual and group experiences to mine the playful beauty and sacred meaning of your life in this hands-on workshop led by Indiana singer-songwriter and frequent worship leader Carrie Newcomer. Newcomer has been described as "a soaring songstress" by Billboard, a "prairie mystic" by the Boston Globe, and Rolling Stone has said that she "asks all the right questions." Writers, songwriters, worship artists and “creatives” of all types and skill levels are welcome.
Cost: FREE & Open to the public.
PLEASE NOTE that because of this event's popularity, it has been adapted to an expanded group format workshop, and registration has been closed at 100 participants. If you would like to place your name on a waiting list in case of any last-minute cancellations, you may do so through the Spirit and Place Festival website.
