How do you live into the edges of your life? What is the meaning in your risk? Join us for a vibrant exploration of life on the edge featuring international writer, storyteller, theologian/philosopher, and liturgical artist Peter Rollins; singer-songwriter Liz Janes; and local social entrepreneurs Laura Henderson and Derrick Braziel. Enjoy an evening that’s part-talk and part-performance, then enter the conversation in a “mash-up” style Q & A with this eclectic mix of innovators. Moderated by CTS president, Matthew Myer Boulton.

“Living Into the Edge" offers a rare opportunity to engage young, cutting-edge leaders taking risks to transform their respective fields and communities.

Peter Rollins is founder of ikon, a faith community with international reputation for blending live music, visual imagery, soundscapes, theatre, ritual and reflection as a way of liturgically enacting the “new creation.” Liz Janes, whose most recent album, Say Goodbye, was released on Asthmatic Kitty Records, sums up her trajectory by saying, “I never understood the discipline of art, and only enjoyed the spontaneous. Now discipline is my only way to access the spontaneous. This is growing up, and this is growing older.” Laura Henderson is the pioneering executive director of Growing Places Indy, currently at work evolving an apprenticeship program to encompass multidimensional focus on urban agriculture, food systems, wellness and sustainability. Derrick Braziel is co-founder of Dreamapolis, the exciting new Indy start-up accelerator and seed-funding source for start-ups, social entrepreneurs, creatives and all things innovative.

Wonder what would happen if you threw them into a room together? Come find out.
